Who are we?
Gippsland Community Legal Service (GCLS) is a community legal centre and service of Anglicare Victoria. GCLS has been providing free legal services to the Gippsland community since 2000.
GCLS’ services are available to people who live, work or study in Gippsland and include free legal advice, legal education, law reform advocacy and duty lawyer assistance in family violence intervention order matters.
The primary GCLS office is located at the Anglicare Victoria offices in Gippsland (190 Commercial Road, Morwell).
GCLS also has lawyers based in Bairnsdale and Wonthaggi. Anglicare Victoria has further offices in Warragul, Wonthaggi and Leongatha, and GCLS can utilise those offices when required.
Gippsland Community Legal Service is thankful for funding from the Commonwealth of Australia Attorney General’s Department, Victorian State Government and Victoria Legal Aid.

What is a Community Legal Centre (CLC)?
CLCs are community organisations that provide free legal services. Most CLCs have guidelines that help direct their services to the people that need them most and some CLCs specialise in a particular area of the law. GCLS is a generalist CLC, which means that we help with a wide range of legal problems.
Do I have to pay to speak to a GCLS lawyer?
No. Our services are free of charge.
Where is GCLS located?
GCLS has offices in Bairnsdale, Morwell and Wonthaggi. We also operate a telephone advice line (1800 004 402) from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
